What
a good blog looks like
This
post is compulsory and I was not really keen on doing it to be honest
but than I found this blog http://fortymillionminutes.blogspot.com,
I
have not read all of the posts because of a lack of time but the
first one from October 2013 called “Can
you spare five minutes?” instantly caught my interest, got
under my skin after just a few words and also got me thinking. A
reaction I honestly did not expect when I first clicked on the link
with that ominous name.
Another
blog I quite liked was
http://haddockandhotdog.blogspot.co.at/2013/11/once-upon-time-in-america.html,
I choose to look at this blog because I wanted to find an explanation
on that quite crazy name, what I found were post about various
topics, some of them I liked some of them I did not find that
interesting, like the one about chestnuts.
The
last blog I want to mention is
http://www.evas-english-blog.blogspot.co.at/2014/12/american-accent-wanted.html,
the name does not sound really creative but some of her post where
really funny and even helpful especially the one in which she
described the problem she has with the English language because she
is from Tirol and the one before that called “American accent
wanted”.
So
to sum up I would say that a good blog does not necessarily have to
have a creative, or outstanding name, although it throws attention to
it, it is more important that the whole blog is appealing like the
headings of the blogs, how a topic is presented, … I also think it
is more interesting to read about things you never heard about or
thought about before, even if they are serious topics like organ
donation, than to read about e.g. dictionaries.
